This year’s Tourism & Leisure Show held at The Five Lakes Resort, was a resounding success.

With over 500 group travel organisers, and the general public attending, over 90 Exhibitors gave them ideas and inspiration for great days out and short breaks throughout East Anglia and the South East of England – ranging from historic houses and gardens to theme parks and museums. Visitors were spoilt for choice!

Newcomers to the show this year included Newmarket and Ascot Racecourses, The imperial War Museum, Fred. Olsen Cruises, Travelsphere Page & Moy plus many more.

Visitors were entertained by The Theatre of Lemmings magnificent stilt walkers, drama productions from Colchester History Alive!, and were able to listen to presentations on The Colne Valley Railway and Great Estates in the Heart of Kent. There were also “show rounds” of the hotel facilities throughout the day.

The new area “A Taste of Essex” proved popular, with local producers providing visitors with tastings of jams, sausages, fudge, bread, pies and pasties. The famous jam makers Wilkins & Sons of Tiptree are celebrating 125 years in business this year, and gave away free scones with jam and cream to all those who visited their stand.
